What those these lyrics mean to you?

To me it seems as though the narrator is watching his home get destroyed right in front of his eyes by war and hatred between man kind. He doesn't bother helping to stop it because the worst has already been let upon him and he sees no reason to save it if he has no reason to live. As of now, he has lost at least two things most dear to him, and he thinks God isn't doing anything to stop the destruction and pain. He believes He does not care.
