If your foot is numb because you popped a nerve , how long will your foot be numb?

Well my bigger toe on my left foot has been numb for 3 days after skating with skates that were a little large. And then I've been biking , swimming , and playing tether ball after that. My mother said I may have popped a nerve , so how long will my foot be numb for?
