How do i usb tether my itouch?

I have a 2g jailbroken itouch. I also have a dell inspiron 5100 that doesnt support wifi. Its like 7-8 years old. Is there any way i can tether my itouch to use internet on my laptop that only gets its internet through an ethernet cable??
